Since the 1960s, dialysis has been present in Tunisia. The initiative was from Professor Hassouna Ben Ayed, founding father who introduced peritoneal dialysis and that of the artificial kidney. And from the Charles Nicolle Hospital for the launch and development, dialysis was introduced to other public and private hospitals. This therapy has developed from one year to another in our country with a progressive and regular rhythm to count today nearly 132 Hemodialysis centers, the majority of which are in the private sector spread over all regions.
